CNN names Jeff Zucker as new chief

Incoming CNN President Jeff Zucker said Thursday that he intends to make the network more "vibrant and exciting" while broadening the programming on television's original but struggling cable news outlet. The former NBC Universal chief's long-rumored selection as CNN president was announced Thursday. He'll start in January and report to Phil Kent, who runs all the Turner networks for parent company Time Warner.

 

Fox News just showed a guy shoot himself in the head.

They were following a car chase and the guy got out, started running, and then shoot himself in the head. Shepard Smith was joking and then got caught off guard. Don't ask why I was watching Fox News.

"Current was also founded on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers," Gore and Joel Hyatt wrote in an "open letter" to viewers on Current's website. "Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it."
