A New Mexico man sues the USDA, saying politics has blocked permits to slaughter horses for food.Rick de los Santos wants to reopen an animal slaughter business that's been banned in the U.S. for years.

USDA lowers pork's safe cooking temp

A bit of pink in pork appears to be OK after all. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service is lowered its temperature recommendation for cooking pork to 145 degrees.
