Australia elections end with no clear winner, and a hung parliament is possible

With 77.7% of the vote, the ruling Labor Party gains 70 seats, losing its majority, and the Liberal-National Party coalition gains 72. A party needs 76 seats to take power, and it could be days before a result is known. Australia is almost certainly headed for a hung parliament after the closest election in decades saw no result returned by midnight Saturday Sydney time.
