Over at MoviesWithButter.com, I’ve written two articles regarding “Ip Man 3,” the film that’s holding its own in Asian territories against “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

If you’re not familiar with Asian cinema,”Ip Man” one of the most popular franchises in that area of the world. It stars Donnie Yen, arguably the top Asian action star in the last decade.

I just got Donnie Yen's latest in the mail about a week ago, so I reviewed it on MWB:

"Peter Chan’s “Wu Xia” is Donnie Yen’s best film since “Ip Man.” It might not be the fight-fest that fans expect from Yen, but it’s a visually striking film that engrosses with its unique take on the martial arts genre and entertains with Yen’s wuxia-style choreography."

I'm a Donnie Yen fan, so I may be a bit biased.

Chinese Monkey King story adapted in $60M 3-D film

The Monkey King character from Chinese folklore will be revived in a $60 million 3-D blockbuster starring Donnie Yen and Chow Yun-fat, as local filmmakers try to match the massive success of "Avatar" by launching their own productions in the new format.
