'Arrested Development' premieres May 26 on Netflix

"Arrested Development" will be reborn on Netflix on May 26. The subscription service announced the premiere date Thursday, saying that all 15 episodes of the comedy series will be posted at the same time. The Mitchell Hurwitz sitcom starring Jason Bateman was canceled by Fox in 2006 after three seasons.

The actor tells THR why a follow-up movie is close to impossible and which guest stars "truly impressed" him. Though Arrested Development is setting the precedent for "television shows that were canceled too early and then revived on Netflix for a very short season," it seems to be pushing the bar quite high: last month, series creator Mitch Hurwitz announced that the cult comedy, premiering on the streaming service in May, would follow a new episodic format which, altogether, is “the first act of what we would like to complete in a movie."
