In the long run, it may be determined that Fast Five was the Empire Strikes Back of the Fast/Furious franchise.  It has long been argued that the unexpected character-driven quality of Irvin Kirshner's second Star Wars chapter was so thoughtful, meditative, and emotionally potent that it set a bar too high for the rest of the entertaining gee-whiz space adventures to reach.  By the standards of every other entry in the cars-and-capers series, Fast & Furious 6 (actually titled Furious 6 in the opening titles) is a generally entertaining big-scale action adventure film that is easily recommended to fans of the series.  But it can't help but feel inferior to its unexpectedly terrific predecessor even as it clearly attempts to reach the same heights.

Jive Software (JIVE) isn't jiving with analysts as they see earnings to continue to move lower.  Jive is looking to get businesses use its software to increase collaboration, content movement and enterprise portals / intranets. Jive's mission is to change the way work gets done, but with nearly 1 billion Facebook users, 175M LinkedIn members and about 400 million tweets a day, are they late to the game?

As expected, Microsoft took the wraps off of its next-generation Xbox at its press event earlier today. With the Xbox One, the company will continue to pursue the strategy it has cultivated in the later years of the 360's reign: the device is definitely still a game console, but it's one with a marked focus on home entertainment.
