Texas workers continue to tap unemployment insurance at an elevated rate weeks into the new year. Nearly 51,000 claims for first-time unemployment insurance were filed by Texas workers during the week that ended Jan. 16, according to data released by the U.S. Department of Labor Jan. 21.
