Dear Readers, Today is the BDN’s 130th anniversary, and we’d like to take a moment to look back at what we’ve shared together, and where we’re going. A lot has changed in 130 years. Maine’s population has doubled. I-95 transformed our economy and infrastructure. Today’s new Mainers are more likely to have grown up speaking Kinyarwanda, Swahili or Somali than French or Swedish.

    Police say they are treating the death of a woman whose body was discovered in the capital city as suspicious. The Kennebec Journal reports city and state police began investigating the discovery of the woman’s body on Tuesday. They’ve yet to release the identity of the woman.
