CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The Granite State's transportation chief is leaving for a senior post at the University of New Hampshire. Chris Clement announced Friday he will step down in December to take the position of vice president for finance and administration at the Durham campus. Gov. Maggie Hassan praised Clement as having kept New Hampshire's roads safe and said he helped lay the foundation for an improved infrastructure. Under state law, Assistant Commissioner David Brillhart will serve as acting commissioner until a permanent commissioner is confirmed by the Executive Council.
