Trump Argues First Amendment Protects Him

This was, to this mystery general, braver than anything he's seen on the battlefield. Just to review, "sir stories" are lies Trump tells when he wants to spin something his way.

Fox's Raymond Arroyo pretended to be surprised when a Republican "town hall" at a Shreveport, LA diner turned out to be full of MAGAt Trump supporters who aren't going to vote for Joe Biden. On this Sunday's Fox & Friends, they featured a number of segments throughout the morning with Arroyo talking to people in the diner, and eventually with newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson, whose district includes Shreveport, making an appearance. During the first of those segments, Arroyo did a survey of the audience and asked for people to clap in response to who they were voting for, and not one of them clapped for Biden, and almost all of them burst into applause when he asked about Trump. What Fox didn't tell their audience is that the diner was promoting the event on Facebook as a "town hall" and the event was shared by Mike Johnson's mother. read more

Howard Kurtz doesn't understand the role journalism is supposed to play in our democracy, but what else would you expect from someone who works for Fox? At the end of a lengthy segment on this Sunday's Media Buzz with Fox regulars Clay Travis and Harold Ford Jr. discussing Trump's dictator threat, along with threats to journalists made by people like Steve Bannon and Kash Patel, Kurtz decided to end the segment by chastising journalists for rightfully reporting on the fact that Trump and his allies are fascists. KURTZ: I just want to say to journalists who say “Well, he is a fascist,” if you think that, then you should quit your journalism job and go campaign against him, rather than using news organizations to allow this campaign, which I think is a lot louder than it's ever been. It's telling that he believes simply reporting on what Trump and his flunkies say is somehow "campaigning" against him.
