Marvel's turned defying fan expectations into a multibillion-dollar industry, and at this point, any fanboys who seriously believe the studio cares about petitions and message boards is delusional. But just because Marvel's brain trust is confident enough to ignore or override comics lovers' wishes, that doesn't mean they aren't aware of them -- and in a couple of notable cases, they may even acquiesce at some point.
The Halloween 3D that was supposed to follow Rob Zombie's last Halloween sequel is as dead as one of Michael Myers' victims, but the franchise has weathered tough times before (e.g. most of the '80s), and if you've been operating under the assumption that we'd seen the last of the masked killer, it's time to change your way of thinking: current plans definitely call for the Halloween series to make its way back to theaters.
It remains to be seen whether Kevin Smith's bizarre walrus horror-comedy Tusk is as fun as the trailer makes it seem, but whatever's going on in Smith's creative life right now, he certainly seems to be having a good time -- and he's already moving on Tusk's follow-up, the second chapter in what he's calling his True North trilogy (so named because, as the Hollywood Reporter points out, it's "steeped in Canadian myths and culture").
Thus far, the reviews for Pierce Brosnan's upcoming action thriller The November Man have been pretty awful -- and the movie hasn't even opened yet -- but clearly, Relativity Media like what they have on their hands here, because according to Brosnan, the studio is already moving ahead with a sequel.
It isn't easy to find all of the serene nooks and calming crannies at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Some of the paths at the park seem perfectly content to go only one way. At least a couple of the themed gardens are best reached by walking through another garden.
