Twitter News: Girl Fight Image From ‘mortal Kombat’ Web Series

Gotta love girl fights. Director Kevin Tancharoen tweeted a photo from the set of “Mortal Kombat” web series. It is a freeze frame image on a monitor of two unidentified female fighters battling each other in part of the Mortal Kombat tournament. He wrote, “Girl fight!” He did not identify the characters or actresses in the image. In the past few weeks, he tweeted first look set photos of Mortal Kombat characters including Sonya, Jax, Scorpion, Raiden and Baraka. The Warner Brothers-produced web series will star Jeri Ryan (“Star Trek: Voyager,” “Boston Public”), Michael Jai White (“The Dark Knight,” “Spawn”), Darren Shahlavi (“Alone in the Dark,” “300”), and Ryan Robbins (“Sanctuary,” “Walking Tall”). The web series will be a collection of multiple live action shorts, providing new insights and background into the characters of the videogame universe. The basic story follows Scorpion, who is sent by Jax and Sonya, to infiltrate the secret fighting tournament and bring down its master, Shang Tsung. The series writers will include Tancharoen, Ed Boon, Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing (“Spartacus: Blood and Sand”). The series will be set to be released on the Internet later this year.
