Vera Bradley Inc. will furlough most store associates and some corporate employees, part of a plan the retailer says will protect its financial position, maximize liquidity and position the company for a strong reopening once the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. The furloughs are effective April 5 “until it is considered safe and advisable to reopen our stores,” the company said in a news release.
