Jerry Evans, a small-business owner and educator from Warrenville, became the eighth person to announce his candidacy as a GOP nominee for Illinois’ 14th Congressional District on Monday. In a campaign video posted on YouTube, Evans said he decided to run after watching “radical politicians,” including 14th District Rep. Lauren Underwood, sell constituents on policies that would destroy the county’s foundation. “I may not be a politician, but I think that Congress desperately needs more of the business-minded and common-sense problem solving that President Trump has brought to the White House,” Evans said in his announcement video.
