The activist group took shape a summer ago as unrest exploded in the aftermath of Michael Brown’s killing in Ferguson, Missouri, and Jeremey Lake’s killing in Tulsa. From a handful of people up to two or three dozen attended its first rallies, including a “die-in” protest during Winterfest in which participants acted as if they had been shot and lay on the ground.
