Before he created the stage cultural sensation "Hamilton," actor/composer/rapper/writer Lin-Manuel Miranda was responsible for another famed play - the 2008 Tony Award winning musical "In the Heights". A film version of that production had previously been in development at Universal Pictures until it was put into turnaround five years ago when the studio balked at the $37 million budget for the Kenny Ortega-helmed feature. Now it seems the project has new life again as The Weinstein Company is reportedly working on an adaptation of the bodega-set project.
