Westminster College Rehires Former President

Westminster College has hired back a former administrator as the next president of the Fulton, Missouri, institution. The college said Monday that Fletcher Lamkin, currently president of West Virginia University-Parkersburg, would join as Westminter’s president later this year. He will replace Carolyn Perry, who has served as acting president since Benjamin Akande resigned in August to pursue other interests in higher education and new endeavors in the private sector.

    (WASHINGTON, D. C.) — U. S. companies would no longer be able to bar employees from taking jobs with competitors under a rule approved by a federal agency Tuesday, though the rule is sure to be challenged in court. The Federal Trade Commission voted Tuesday 3-2 to ban measures known as noncompete agreements, which bar workers from jumping to or starting competing companies for a prescribed period of time.
