October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month; today’s column will support this campaign. Breast cancer is the most common non-skin cancer diagnosed in women and behind lung cancer, it is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women. Invasive breast cancer is diagnosed in over 200,000 women and over 2,000 men annually in the United States and in almost 1.5 million women worldwide.
