Q: My boyfriend was diagnosed with a stomach ulcer, and he said his doctor told him it was from an infection. Does this really happen, or did he misunderstand?A: A peptic ulcer is an erosion in the mucosal lining of the stomach (gastric ulcer) or the first part of the small intestines (duodenal ulcer).
