Why Telltale’s Game Of Thrones Is 6 Episodes Long

Telltale’s Game of Thrones series kicks off toward the end of HBO’s third season — around the time of the Red Wedding. Because of the ripple effect of the television series affecting the new, never-before-seen events of the game series, six episodes was necessary for Telltale. Director of Design Ryan Kauffman told IGN, “Our characters are feeling the impact of what we’ve experienced and seen in the show, it felt like six episodes, given the scope and scale, was the right thing.” This was a decision the developer made early on.
