A innocent bystander killed in a shooting in San Francisco’s Ocean View district that left two men wounded was identified as a 65-year-old woman who lived in the neighborhood, the city’s medical examiner’s office confirmed Thursday. Lian Xiu Wu was shot in the head on Wednesday morning at the intersection of Plymouth Avenue and Broad Street, near her home, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Two men, ages 40 and 51, were injured in the shooting, but their injuries were not life-threatening, police said. Xiu came to America 16 years ago to help take care of family, leaving her daughter behind in China, according to a Go Fund Me page started by Xiu’s nephew, Denny Truong, to pay for funeral expenses. Four shootings have occurred near the intersection of Plymouth Avenue and Broad Street since November, police noted. Annette Shelton, 75, runs a beauty shop around the corner from the shooting and called 911 after Xiu was shot. In addition to raising money to cover Xiu’s funeral expenses, her nephew hopes to use donations from the Go Fund Me to help her daughter relocate to a safer area.
