Savannah celebrity chef Paula Deen returned to the "Today" show Tuesday morning for the first time since an emotional, tear-filled appearance last summer during the height of the controversy over her admitting to using the "n word" several years earlier. Deen, along with sons Jamie and Bobby, sat down with Matt Lauer to discuss their recovery from the controversy as well as the launch of their Paula Deen Network online.
The Atlantic Beach police chief resigned Tuesday after being suspended Friday because of an active criminal investigation, according to city officials.
City Manager Nelson van Liere said Florida Department of Law Enforcement officials notified him Friday of an ongoing investigation involving Chief Michael Classey.
Liere said he told Classey he was suspended while he was driving home from the station.
Armstrong State University’s Celebrate Armstrong weekend takes place October 9 through 11 at the south side Savannah campus, 11935 Abercorn St.
