MOOSIC – The Wyoming Valley Conference fell behind in the first inning and never caught up in Sunday night’s fifth annual Field of Dreams Game. There still, however, was one Luzerne County player who had a winning night. Holy Cross second baseman Josh Mies, a Duryea resident, was part of the fast start that carried the Lackawanna League to a 6-2 victory over the WVC at PNC Field. Mies was familiar with some of his opponents Sunday. “I played with a few of them through Teener Leagues and junior high baseball,” said Mies, who entered Holy Cross as a freshman.
