By Chris CasteelStaff Writer ccasteel@oklahoman.comThe U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted along party lines Thursday to advance the nomination of Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Patrick Wyrick to be a federal judge. Wyrick’s nomination was moved to the full Senate by a vote of 12-10, with Republicans supporting the nomination. Some Democrats charged that Wyrick had undermined environmental regulations and tribal sovereignty while working for Scott Pruitt, the former Oklahoma attorney general who later served as head of the Environmental Protection Agency. Wyrick, 37, was Pruitt’s solicitor general in the attorney general’s office. He has been a state Supreme Court justice for about two years. Wyrick’s nomination to be a federal judge for the western district of Oklahoma advanced to the full Senate last year, but a vote was never taken.Read more on NewsOK.com
