XCOM: Enemy Unknown is now available for Android devices on the Google Play store. Firaxis' turn-based tactics game costs $10, and will arrive on Amazon "soon," though publisher 2K didn't specify anything clearer, nor whether XCOM would come to Amazon's Fire TV. This edition of Enemy Unknown, like the iOS version's initial launch, does not include multiplayer yet, but asynchronous competitive play via Google Game Services will come in a future update. IGN enjoyed the iOS version of Enemy Unknown, but found its aggressive drain on battery life to be a bit of a problem.

Despite some bugs and average production values, Firaxis convincingly restores XCOM to life: its difficulty, management and tactical gameplay are there. Very nice to explore, Enemy Unknown leaves you with but one desire: to play a sequel that is richer and prettier than ever. Get to work!
