Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson says the state will join others in a legal fight against new federal rules designed to cut greenhouse gas emissions from U. S. power plants.

FROM STAFF REPORTSi2E Inc. and Accele Venture Partners recently closed a $600,000 follow-on investment in Synereca Pharmaceuticals, a portfolio company of Accele Biopharma, an Oklahoma City-based biotechnology accelerator.
With the most recent investment, Synereca has now received $2.5 million in funding to support its development of compounds that address the growing problem of bacterial resistance to current antibiotics.
Synereca’s lead program is designed to restore or increase the effectiveness of existing antibiotics that have been compromised by drug-resistant bacteria.
Russia is not giving up in its bid to claim as much of the Arctic as it can.
Eight years after literally placing a flag via submarine on the seabed of the North Pole, Russia announced that it has submitted a formal claim to Arctic territory to the United Nations.
According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, the country is claiming 1.2 million square kilometers of Arctic sea shelf.
General Motors says it's investing $877 million to upgrade an assembly plant in Flint.
The company plans to build a new, 883,000-square-foot body shop for Flint Assembly, which makes full-size pickups for the Chevrolet and GMC brands.
The new body shop will be closer to the Flint Metal Center, which supplies sheet metal to the plant.
