A natural-gas leak near San Francisco’s Alamo Square prompted police to evacuate people from nearby buildings, fire officials said. The leak was reported at 3:22 p.m. at McAllister and Scott streets. Police went door to door to evacuate those in buildings affected by the leak, and officials told the public to avoid the area. Pacific Gas and Electric Co.
