Three people — including a man arrested in a similar incident eight years ago — held police at bay for almost 12 hours after allegedly robbing someone in an Orrington mobile home on Saturday. Police used a cooling tent to combat the heat as negotiators tried to talk the three suspects into surrendering, which they did at 7 p.m., said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety. The standoff began, McCausland said, when a woman reported being robbed at the Johnson Mill Road home early Saturday morning.
