A wildfire raged in sections of California’s famous Yosemite National Park on Tuesday but the popular tourist destination remained open, officials said. Park spokeswoman Ashley Mayer said the blaze which started on Saturday had scorched more than 3,000 acres (12 square kilometers) and remained only 19 percent contained. The fire forced the evacuation of dozens of homes in the towns of Foresta and Old El Portal, and had so far destroyed one property, Mayer said. One section of woodland within the park was closed due to the fire, while all entrances to Yosemite remained open.
