My First Impression Of "mission: Impossible Rogue Nation"

Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson in "Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation"

I saw a promotional screening of Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation” on Monday, and here’s a quote from my first impression on MWB: “I like a film that gives you more just when you thought you’ve already gotten the best it has to offer. I also like that the stunts look realistic and not CGI-assisted. There are excitement and creativity in these sequences. It’s not the kind of computer generated mass mayhem you see often nowadays in comic book movies.”

Now that I’ve seen the film, I’ve been browsing through the reviews gathered on Rotten Tomatoes so far. The reaction have been great, and I agree with them -- well, the positive ones anyway.

One of the reviewers notices something I see often in Hong Kong films, but rarely in Hollywood: “[A] new hot brunette takes all of Hunt's attention. Although, notably, the two don't even kiss - she gets a fatherly hug...”

I brought my mom to the screening, so I wasn’t looking forward to any steamy action between the romantic leads. I’m glad the filmmaker went with the “fatherly” hug.
