Butler High football coach Mike Newsome, who led his team to a 15-0 season and the school's first state championship, is MaxPreps national high school football coach of the year.Butler whipped Fayetteville Britt 48-17 in the N.C. 4AA championship last month, finishing off a postseason run where the Bulldogs averaged 52 points and had the largest margin of victory in the 4AA championship since Independence beat Fayetteville South View 41-7 in 2004.
