A car burst into flames following traffic accident on the San Mateo bridge Sunday afternoon, causing a major backup on the eastbound side of the span, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident was first reported just before 3 p.m. west of the toll plaza. One person was reportedly injured and transported to Eden Medical Center with moderate injuries.
