A Cary man previously charged with housing a marijuana growing operation and a pet alligator was sentenced to eight years in prison on a more recent charge accusing him of receiving drugs in the mail. Nicholas R. Cosmano, 33, pleaded guilty Friday to possession of more than 11 pounds of marijuana in connection with a 2017 drug investigation. On July 21, 2017, postal officials became aware of a suspicious package addressed to Cosmano.
