The Houston City Council on Wednesday approved construction of an additional parking lot at Bush Intercontinental Airport to add more parking options as travel demand grows. Airport officials said current travel rates and a projected increase over the next two decades in passengers leaving from Bush will strain the parking capacity at the airport. The project proposes a new lot with 2,200 covered parking spaces, required site demolition and a new administration building for office space.
