Bikers to embark on 16th annual Ride for Freedom to support veterans

Hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts will hit the road in northern Macomb County on Sunday to raise thousands of dollars for a pair of facilities that service local military veterans.The 16th annual Patrick Wisniewski Memorial Ride for Freedom will take off at 11:30 a.m. Sunday -- rain or shine -- on a 60-mile ride sponsored by the Wolverine Harley-Davidson and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154.

 

Temporary repairs made at Murdock-Ballard Drain in Harrison Township

Temporary repairs to prevent a sinkhole from forming under Jefferson Avenue in Harrison Township were completed Wednesday.According to the Macomb County Public Works Office, a pump station on the Murdock-Ballard Drain along Jefferson immediately south of Crocker Road has been returned to operations following the removal of more than three feet of heavy sediment in the bottom of the pump station and adjacent pipes.
