Two men who rescued boy who fell into Clinton River honored as heros

Two Clinton Township men who were instrumental in rescuing a 3-year-old boy from the Clinton River have been honored -- one posthumously -- by the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission.Ron Elko saved the boy from drowning on April 9, 2017 after he fell into the river from a boardwalk in Mount Clemens while Joshua Traylor died attempting to do the same.

 

Man pleads to theft from credit-card processing company

A 51-year-old Shelby Township man has pleaded no contest to a theft charge for stealing more than $100,000 from a Clinton Township credit-card processing company.Gino Accettola entered the plea last week in front of Judge Jennifer Faunce in Macomb County Circuit Court. The judge agreed to sentence him at the bottom of the sentencing guideline range, which has not been determined.
