During the Call of Duty: WW2 Nazi Zombies Reveal panel today at San Diego Comic-Con, Sledgehammer officially revealed the next iteration of their zombies mode calling it "probably the least campy and most terrifying" yet. The panel opened with a finished version of the previously leaked trailer, showcasing an intensely gory, horror-themed take on the zombies formula. "The number of times we think you’re going to maybe pee a little is going to be more than what you’ve experience before," Sledgehammer co-founder Michael Condrey said, who was joined by creative director Cameron Dayton and senior director of development Jon Horsley. The team stressed their goal is to keep it grounded and avoid that natural desire to "dial everything up to 11," while Condrey drew parallels between lessons he learned from a previous game he developed, Dead Space.
