The Comets denied the Blue Knights from winning a district title in their first year after switching from a prep school schedule to strictly high school play as a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association member in the sport. Tirpak worked free behind the goal, waited for a pass from Anthony Capruscio, then stepped in front to get off a quick shot for the game-winner. “They started shifting to the back side,” Tirpak said.
