Stories Related to Decomposed Body Of Woman Found In Barberton Home; Son Charged With Murder

BARBERTON: The decomposed body of a 67-year-old woman was discovered inside a Barberton home Wednesday and her son now faces murder charges.Maureen Petrie was found inside of her 23rd Street Northwest home after police made a welfare check on the residence, said Barberton police officer Marty Eberhart.“Family members said they had had no contact with relatives for six months,” Eberhart said.After knocking several times, police entered the home and found Michael Petrie, 32, the victim’s son, and later located the body of his mother, Eberhart said.“He made statements that implicated himself in the death of his mother,” Eberhart said.
