Nontoxic weed killers for pets
Gardeners everywhere use weed killers and herbicides to prevent weeds from taking over their yards. However, many weed killers are toxic to small animals and children, especially if there’s direct exposure to the chemicals. This dangerous aspect makes them less ideal for at-home use. Luckily, there are safe alternatives for those who want to tend to their garden without worrying about risking anyone’s safety.
Type
There are two main types of weed killers: liquid and granular.
Liquid: These either use a spray bottle or a pour spout to provide targeted control to problem areas.
The underwater mermaid shows at Wreck Bar that began nearly two decades ago would not have happened if it weren’t for Marina Anderson pitching the idea and bringing it to life.
Anderson started the mermaid shows at the Wreck Bar in Fort Lauderdale in the early 2000s, and it eventually grew from her alone swimming to her training others and the performances developed over the years, including the addition of their popular, one-of-a-kind underwater mermaid and mermen burlesque shows.
Dear Amy: I’m a 57-year-old man.
I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer.
I am obviously not overjoyed, but I am totally accepting of this news. Living with — not dying of — cancer means a few lifestyle changes and the need to be more aware of things.
My cancer is not curable, but it is treatable; similar to many other illnesses.
I have a large circle of family, friends, and acquaintances who have been supportive of me during my life.
I have chosen to share my diagnosis with only a few of them.
While I’m OK with my cancer, I know it isn’t going to be well received by most people, and so that’s why I’ve decided to keep it private.
I hate seeing people I care about being in pain and/or distressed and knowing the knowledge of my illness will cause this in turn causes me much more pain and distress than the cancer ever will.
These folks would definitely step up and help in whatever way they can.
I know that after I pass and the news of the cancer becomes known, many of my friends will be blaming themselves for not noticing “the signs,” and will feel awful for that as well.
I don’t want people to fawn over me and treat me differently, but I feel guilty about keeping this a secret.

Imagine Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried white-knuckling her way down a mountain road, while in the backseat, Palm Beach County’s Democratic Executive Committee is going at it.
He started it! She hit me! Hey, leave me alone!
Fried could have hit the brakes and had a come-to-Jesus meeting. She might have ordered up the constructive mix of crackdown and marching orders needed for the quarreling local Dems to muscle through election day.
She might have warned them: Not one more word till we’re all off this mountain.
After all, Fried was in the driver’s seat.
But that’s not what happened.
Angry people stayed angry, and there’s an awful lot of anger in Palm Beach County right now.
CourtesyPat Beall is an editorial writer and columnist for the Sun Sentinel, focusing mainly on Palm Beach County issues.
On March 4, Fried suspended Mindy Koch, the local party chair and target of the most vociferous criticism.
On March 24, a committee of state party leaders reinstated her.
Days later, the state party’s judicial council voted to oust her.
On May 1, Koch resigned, citing a “subversive, cancerous element” tearing the party apart.
If this is anyone’s victory, it has come wrapped in a chaotic public scandal, a laundry list of what may be irreconcilable differences and an organization that risks careening into irrelevance six months from the November election.
To be fair, Fried is not responsible for driving one balky car down the mountain.

RAFAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Heavy fighting between Israeli troops and Palestinian militants on the outskirts of the southern Gaza city of Rafah has left crucial nearby aid crossings inaccessible and caused over 100,000 people to flee north, a United Nations official said Friday.
Israel’s plans for a full-scale invasion of Rafah appear to be on hold for now, with the United States deeply opposed and stepping up pressure by threatening to withhold arms.
