Jeff Shannon had been living in Nepal for two years when the earthquake struck the South Asian country last week.The magnitude 7.8 quake and its repeated aftershocks have claimed the lives of more than 6,000 people.Shannon, whose parents, Ted and Dolores Shannon, live in Kingsport with their eldest son, Ted and daughter-in-law, Cindy, grew up in Eastern Kentucky.
