Stories Related to El Paso Was An Important Military Post In The 1800s: Leon Metz

On Feb. 3, 1849, under General Order No. 8, the War Department instructed U.S. soldiers to commence moving into this area, their purpose being to establish a "Post Opposite El Paso"
