Captain America: Civil War star Anthony Mackie will play attorney Johnnie Cochran in a film based on a 1981 police brutality case. The currently untitled film follows Cochran—who represented O.J. Simpson in the infamous murder trial—on the 1981 Signal Hill police brutality case, Variety reported. The film, which is based on real life events, centers on the "highly publicized" police brutality case that was brought to light after a college student died in police custody. Dallas Buyers Club producer Robbie Brenner will produce alongside Mackie.
