Under an amendment proposed by Pennsylvania's U.S. senators, residents of areas near former military bases could receive health monitoring to help determine how chemicals released in firefighting foam used on the bases might have affected them and tens of thousands of people nationwide who have consumed, used, and bathed in tainted water.
