Lancaster County residents don’t have to travel far to pick fresh strawberries, and it’s finally time to hit the fields. The Ivy Place, at 8603 Van Wyck Road in Indian Land, and Rich Hill Farms, 3061 Rocky River Road, Heath Springs, both offer fresh-picked and pick-your-own baskets of strawberries. Kirk Hovis said this is the first year his family-owned Rich Hill Farms has grown strawberries, and it has been a challenge. “The weather has been horrendous,” Hovis said.
