KERSHAW – While some small towns use municipal courts to raise cash through traffic fines, Kershaw isn’t one of them. “It’s not a revenue cow, and we don’t want it to be,” said Kershaw Mayor Mark Dorman. “We just want the laws enforced.” Town council members unanimously voted Monday to start the process of eliminating the town’s municipal court by the end of the fiscal year. Dorman said presiding Judge Barbara Lisenby has notified Kershaw officials that June 30 will be her last day.
