Stories Related to Local Agencies Shape Ebola Response

After Wednesday’s fear of a possible Ebola case at the Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital emergency room, agencies involved in responding to such situations have been shaping the city’s Biological Emergency Response Team. “We want to be ready if and when the first case is in Amarillo,” said Dr. Richard Smalligan, health authority for Amarillo Bi-City-County Health District. One of the earliest signs of the sometimes-fatal disease is elevated body temperature.
