Weekend rains that canceled regional festivals and dampened football games could bring high water hazards to the Savannah River in the days ahead, officials said Saturday. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers warned that high water and increased flows could bring floating debris, submerged retaining walls and higher river velocity downstream of Thurmond Dam.
