Note: Full spoilers for Mad Men’s final season follow. Let’s get out of the way that it’s a bit tricky to review Mad Men’s final season. The decision to split the season into two halves, that aired a year apart, meant Matthew Weiner pretty distinctly split the story as well – the time jump to 1970 alone making the final batch of episodes feel like their own season. That being said, the fourteen episodes that aired in 2014 and 2015 do comprise “Season 7”, so that’s all being taken into account when looking at how Mad Men’s story wrapped up.
