OLD TOWN, Maine — One of Maine’s newest residents was in such a rush to arrive he couldn’t even wait for the hospital. Little Benjamin Matthew Gould came into the world at 6 pounds 7 ounces somewhere along I-95 in Old Town. Jocelyn Steeves-Gould said she and her husband, Ben, were trying to make it to the hospital, but Benjamin had other ideas. “He was still driving down the highway and I said, ‘I feel something’ and he’s like, ‘I can see the head.’ So I just pushed once and he came right out,” Jocelyn said. “Just getting him out and making sure he didn’t fall on the floor there, I had one hand on the wheel and one hand kind of guiding him into her arms,” Ben said. They were so close to the hospital, Jocelyn told her husband not to pull over and keep going.
